# Booking Calendar

> Configure booking times, date ranges, timezone, person-specific availability, and simple reservation slots.

# Booking Calendar

Use the Booking Calendar form when a tag should let customers book a time.

This setup is meant for building a light, focused booking experience inside a tag. The goal is not to replace a full booking platform. In most cases, this is best used for a simple experience where the customer chooses one available time and sends a booking request.

## Booking times

Turn on **Booking times** when the tag should accept reservations.

## Timezone

Start by choosing the correct timezone. This is important because all booking times will follow that timezone.

For example, if the experience is running in Paris, the designer should use `Europe/Paris` so customers see the right times.

## Time for

A booking schedule can be:

* linked to a specific person or creator
* or not linked to any specific person

If the booking is tied to a person, the designer can use **Time for** to build separate availability for that person.

Examples:

* a salon booking for `Sara Jensen`
* a consultation slot for one team member
* separate available times for different creators or staff members

If the booking is not for a specific person, the designer can simply create general booking times for the tag.

## Two ways to add booking times

PeekTag supports two ways to add availability:

* **Add day times**
* **Add date range**

## Add day times

Use **Add day times** when the designer wants to set availability for a specific day.

In this mode, the designer:

1. chooses one day
2. sets one or more times for that day
3. sets the duration
4. sets the capacity if needed

The designer can also click **Add time** to add another time on the same day.

This is useful when:

* only a few specific dates are available
* the schedule changes often
* the designer wants exact control over each day
* one person has custom availability on selected dates

### Important save step

After adding the day and its times, the designer must click **Save** at the top of the modal.

This part is important: the time is not added to the available times list until **Save** is clicked.

Once it is saved, the new time appears in the booking list. After that, the designer can repeat the same process again and add more days.

## Add date range

Use **Add date range** when the designer wants to create availability across a wider period instead of adding days one by one.

In this mode, the designer:

1. chooses a **start date**
2. chooses an **end date**
3. defines what daily time range is bookable during those dates

This is useful when the same booking window repeats for several days in a row.

Examples:

* available from `2026-06-30` to `2026-07-08`, every day from `09:00` to `17:00`
* a campaign period with fixed daily booking hours
* a short event window with the same opening hours every day

<img src="https://mintlify.s3.us-west-1.amazonaws.com/peektag/images/booking-date-range-setup.png" alt="Date range setup" />

### Important save step

Just like day-based times, the designer must click **Save** at the top of the modal.

The date range is only added to the available times list after it has been saved.

Once saved, it appears in the list and the designer can repeat the process for more date ranges if needed.

## Duration and capacity

For both methods, the designer can define:

* **Duration**: how long the booking lasts
* **Capacity**: how many bookings or seats are available in that slot, if capacity matters

This helps keep the booking experience simple but still structured.

## Minimal booking mindset

When using this form, it helps to think small and clear.

PeekTag booking is best for a focused experience such as:

* booking one appointment time
* reserving a simple consultation slot
* reserving a seat or table in a lightweight way
* capturing intent for a service without building a full scheduling system

If the designer keeps the flow minimal, the experience is usually easier for customers to understand and complete.

## Tip

A good approach is to only add the times that truly matter for the experience. That keeps the booking flow clean, easy to manage, and easier for customers to trust.
